Art Camp - Day 4

They did mixed media painting. Here’s the final product. Will do a separate post later to share Glynis’ thoughts on her painting process.

Art Camp - Day 3

Day 3 was weaving! Glynis wove a basket with paper, fabric, and beads. She wanted her finished product to be a Father’s Day gift so we wrapped it up … however, she was too excited & couldn’t wait so she told David he could open up his Father’s Day present early ;).

One of her art instructors said she designed the basket “all by herself” and only needed assistance with the hot glue gun.

Art Camp - Day 2

On Day 2 of Art Camp (at the Mt Pleasant Art Center), Glynis had a lot of fun making a mask.

Glynis' Art Camp - Day 1

The first day of Art Camp was 3-D sculpture. Glynis got to make an abstract sculpture with wire and canvas for her Day 1 of Summer Art Camp!

“So we had to use a block of wood at the bottom. Then we glued a wire to it. We twisted the wire back and forth to make an abstract shape. Then we put cloth over it, and added a bigger piece of floor tile so it’d be better balanced. Then we painted it all white. Then we painted any colors we wanted. After it dried, we got to look at the artwork.”

I felt excited and a little shy (with the other kids).
